This, prayers to saints & the dead, & papal infallibility are all things that give me a hard time reconciling Catholicism being a Christian religion (though I do recognize it as such).

Everyone can pass judgment. The bible says "Every man is righteous in his own sight" However, the difference between judging without being in a position of judgment is that there is no way to enforce the judgment. Think about it, if some court settlement came out and said you deserved some money for punitive damages, if there weren't any cops, or lawyers, or prisons they could just say "Screw it! I'm not paying a cent." And they'd get away Scott free... The only thing that makes judgment worth anything is being able to enforce the decisions that were made... Without that the "judge" is just a guy going around making demands. So you pass judgment on your friend, yet you have no way of enforcing whatever, but your friend might pass judgment on you and be much better at enforcing it himself because for whatever reason he's stronger, mightier... That would make his judgment hurt you more than yours hurt him.

The difference in murder vs defense isn't that it's hatred or not. God hates wrongdoing, and there are plenty of verses where it talks about the wrath of God (wrath is a fierce anger.) The difference is that the commandment was made to the populace not the soldiers. Evidence of this is found in the story of Gideon. Many were called, but few were chosen. Those who drank the water straight from the river instead of cupping their hands were only 300 left that were the soldiers... everyone else got sent home. Not everyone was called to be a soldier. Many would want to be the ones to bear that duty, but not everyone is chosen to do that task. A lot of times their sure death is more a hindrance and liability than a help through more numbers. For an example someone could walk in your line of fire while you're taking a shot...you end up shooting your mate by accident, or the opposite... Your teammate doesn't see you because he wants to abate the target and doesn't watch his fire while you're passing by...

Where in the Bible does it say that we have immortal souls? When does man receive immortality, at death or resurrection of life? Where did the teaching of humans having immortal souls come from? Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man BECAME a living SOUL. Does it say we were given an immortal soul, or we BECAME a living soul or a living being. Genesis 2:16-17 God gives Adam every tree to eat except for one, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God said to Adam,"In the day that you eat of it, YOU SHALL SURELY DIE." Genesis 3:1-5 The serpent (Satan) causes doubt to the woman (Eve) asking, "Has God indeed said you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" The serpent said to the woman, "You shall NOT surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." God said shall SURELY die, Satan said shall NOT SURELY die. Who is telling the truth? Who is saying that we will live on? 1 Timothy 6:15-16, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords (speaking of Jesus) who ALONE has IMMORTALITY. We know Enoch is in heaven and did not see death, Genesis 5:23-24. We know Elijah is in heaven and did not see death, 2 Kings 2:11, Matthew 17:1-4. We know Moses saw death but was resurrected and is in heaven, Deuteronomy 34:5-6, Jude 1:9, Matthew 17:1-4. There were those who were resurrected when Jesus died that the earth quaked, the rocks split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep (had died) were raised; and coming out of the graves AFTER His (Jesus') resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many, Matthew 27:51-53. They were the ones of captives who ascended with Jesus as trophies of His victory over death and the grave. Mary and Jesus' apostles were still alive when that happened, and there is no record of them ascending into heaven when they died. Peter said in Acts 2:29, "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day." In verse 34, Peter also said, "For David did NOT ascend into the heavens." David is in the grave awaiting the resurrection. Ecclesiastes 9:4-6, For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing. And they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also, their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished. When a person dies in Ecclesiastes 12:7 says, then the dust (the body) will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit (the breath of life) will return to God who gave it. There is no such thing as an immortal soul. Can a soul die? Ezekiel 18:4, 20, "the soul that sins, it shall die." What is another word for breath of life? Job 27:3, "All the while my breath is in me (Job speaking) and the spirit of God is in my nostrils." BREATH=SPIRIT. It's the breath that returns to God, not a spirit that knows what is going on. Psalm 146:4, His spirit (breath of life) departs, he (his body) returns to his earth; in that very day his plans perish. Job 14:14 If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service, I will WAIT until my change comes. Even Paul understood what Job was saying. In Philippians 3:20-21, The Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body. Also, in 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, Paul wrote, verse 53, this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this MORTAL must put on IMMORTALITY. It is God who gives those who surrender to Him, who obey Him, immortality. Heaven is eternal. Hell is not eternal. The effects of hell are eternal. Malachi 4:1-3, The day is coming burning like an oven, all the proud, all who do wickedly will be stubble. The day which is coming will burn them up. You shall trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet. Jude 1:7, As Sodom and Gomorrah having given themselves over (to a list of sins), are set forth as an EXAMPLE, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Sodom and Gomorrah are not still burning. The fire went out after it did its job. If the wicked burn for eternity, where is the justice? How will God then rid the universe of sin? God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. Ezekiel 18:23, Does God have any pleasure that the wicked should die? God says that he should turn from his ways and live. Satan is not in charge of, nor did he create hell. Matthew 25:41, everlasting fire PREPARED (CREATED), for the devil and his angels. Revelation 20:9-10, the devil who deceived them (the wicked), was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night "forever and ever." The results of the fire and brimstone are forever. The devil and the wicked won't burn forever. They are forever through all eternity separated from God. What does the Bible say about speaking to the dead? One of many verses, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire (sacrifice to false gods), or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who CALLS UP THE DEAD. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord." The spirits that people think are their relatives or loved ones are the spirits of devils masquerading themselves. If those spirits speak against God and His word, then people should know it is the devil trying to deceive them. Don't allow pastors, priests, ministers, this video, or even myself, tell you what the Bible says, especially on the subject of death. We must be like the Bereans of Acts 17:10-15 and search the Scriptures (for ourselves) daily to find out whether these things were so. The Bereans didn't take the words of Paul and Silas for it. The Bereans tested what the apostles said with Scripture. If Paul and Silas didn't speak according to Scripture, the Bereans would NOT HAVE ACCEPTED their word. There is so much more on the subject of death. You must study your Bible and ask God for guidance and knowledge to understand.

The Chosen is for entertainment, everyone making such a big deal out of it. The bible is the truth and accurate and watching a show shouldn't change that for you. Although I have to say Dallas Jenkins is a money hungry wolf who really loves himself a LOT.

The problem is that there are ungodly churches. In my area, we are affected by something called Church culture where the congregation (yes, leaders included) makes the place an occasion for socializing and God is NOT in our midst. I know because all I've learned about the gospel has been from home and the internet. My most recent pastor was an advocate for things that God does not condone (I won’t say what). The pastor I knew before that was a people-pleaser and his ministry for encouragement. Nothing wrong with that, bless him, but he didn't seem to know much of anything about the work of Jesus' substitute atonement; he would pray for you and give you advice, but that church was no more helpful than any other charity. Churchgoing is an issue for some people and no one should settle for going to a bad church.

Yes you will find it Old Testament: Genesis 10:5, ,20,31,32,12:2, Isaiah 42L1 etc. The word used here in the english translation is "nation" which is the Hebrew word "Goy" which means: nation; people New Testament: Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. The word "nation" used here is the word "Ethnos" which means a race, people, nation - people joined by practicing similar customs or common culture; nation(s), usually referring to unbelieving Gentiles (non-Jews). It's where we get the word 'ethnic' from. Though his message is good, he's missing these critical points. Different degrees of melanin, yes of course, which defines our ethnos. Which explains why the Lord said in Isaiah 42:7: "Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations." It was important enough for the Lord to say it because He knew that this is where we would be in our thinking. I see nothing wrong with acknowledging race. It is only when one race places itself above another is it bad. Which is why Paul said in Galatians 3:28-29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Meaning no one is superior or inferior over another.

Okay I’ve read many comments let me just say you guys need to calm down and think. Dallas Jenkins already stated many times in interviews and there’s even a message in the first episode saying that “not everything in the chosen is biblical. Different verses have been combined into one and more story has been added to fill in gaps” Dallas himself even said to read the bible if you truly want to better understand god’s word. The chosen is meant to give character to Jesus’s disciples, the Pharisees, the roman’s, and for us the visualize what Jesus and his disciples went through two thousand years ago. It’s like what John said in season 2 episode 1 when he was writing his book “people won’t even know what he sounded like, what he looked like” and that’s true we don’t know what Jesus sounded like and many of us who have had a near death experiences have seen what our savior looks like and yes their have been many projects showing Jesus and disciples such as “Mel Gibson’s Passion Of The Christ” “Jesus Of Nazareth” “life of Jesus” ETC. But those are their own takes on what they believe is what happened from reading the Gospel but don’t regret watching the chosen and don’t regret telling others about the show because despite the show not being 100% biblical accurate it’s still an amazing show and it’s because of the chosen I wanted to fix my relationship with God and to be reborn as one of his children and it’s because of the chosen that motivated to read the Bible to better understand God’s word and to give me the knowledge to help others find the lord as he helped me. Even if cessationism is incorrect, this teaching that new covenant prophecy is less accurate leads to false prophecies and false prophets. God can give us a prophecy if he wants to. We don’t need to try and manufacture it. Excellent video

Justin Peter's is not your everyday typical Christian. Peter's is also a cessationist which brings to light as to why and by what authority many of his claims are based. However his cessationist claims do not overwrite Biblical Authority yet in his own mind and opinion he believes it does. So be very careful taking everything he has to say as Gods undeniable word and truth. Cessationism is a doctrine that spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophecy, and healing ceased with the Apostolic Age. The doctrine was developed in the reformation and is particularly associated with the Calvinists.

I don't think including those documents equates to adding to the 66 books of the Bible. There are umpteen study Bibles that add materials, prayers, devotionals, etc. that I don't think you would say shouldn't be there.

Love this Christian devotional book: Jesus Calling by Sarah Young! I also have Jesus Always by her as well. There are Scripture references on each page and what is written lines up with the Word of God. I have learned a lot about God through reading both of these books. I believe that these books are prophetic. A prophet is a spokesperson for God. I believe that God dictated these books to her as prophetic Words. God did this in order to bless the world through her books. I am a continuationist. God is Good! ❤❤❤

Same old objections to Molinism....same old lack of understanding of Molinism. These "problems" only demonstrate that the video's author doesn't understand middle knowledge or God's sovereign use of our libertarian free will. God knowing what you will freely choose does not mean that's the only thing you could have chosen. You could have chosen differently, and if you did, God would have known something different. This objection always sounds so clever to detractors of Molinism, but not only is it bad logic, it's an assault on God's omniscience. Why do detractors insist that God can only know what we WILL do and think it's impossible for Him to know what we WOULD do? They may not articulate in that way--although some do--but that is always the crux of this weak argument against Molinism. It's either a blatant misunderstanding of God's middle knowledge of our libertarian free will, or it's a limitation placed on the (not-really)omniscience of God.
